General

Both seed and vegetative propagation methods are used to produce herbaceous plants.

Seed raised plants will give the variation typical of the species. Some cultivars breed true from seed, others do not. Clonal forms can only be vegetatively propagated.

 

Propagation Methods

It is advisable to check the propagation requirements of any perennials (species, hybrids and cultivars) to be specified both in suitable references and with reputable suppliers and then specify either of the following:

· Seed

· Vegetative method (e.g. cuttings, division)
