38 years ago, a young artist called Tom Lindhardt Wills witnessed an event which changed the world of children's play. One of his bright, large sculptures had been placed in a new housing estate to add colour to the otherwise drab surroundings. Realising that children were more interested in playing on it than admiring it, he began work on creating a dedicated, child-focused play ground equipment company - KOMPAN.
Play is so important to all children in the development of their physical, social, emotional and creative skills that society should seek every opportunity to support it and create an environment that encourages it.
